Patcham High School is one of nine secondary schools in Brighton, located in the village of Patcham. It has specialist status as an Arts and Media College, and has around 1,000 pupils. The current head teacher is Paula Sargent.[1]

The school was founded on the 7th of July 1990, when Margaret Hardy school for girls and Patcham Fawcett school for boys were combined. The school is located on Ladies Mile Road in Patcham.

Margaret Hardy and Patcham Fawcett were the last two single sex schools in Brighton, and Patcham High School now serves the north of Brighton, situated next to the South Downs. The new logo is that of the Chattri, an Indian War Memorial that can be seen from Patcham. The logo was changed, along with the uniform, in 2006.

In 2011, prodigies like Louis Mallen-Curtis, Radi Darwish and Dan Hill left the school. Athlete Toby Rottner was given a private 1 to 1 with a teacher that cannot be named... This group of then year 11's also contained now model Josh Cheetham and basketball pro Jon kawik. This group also had the late Al-Amin Miah who sadly passed away from emma-itus, and also not forgetting Sidney Mitchell who died from eating too many Mars bars. Other chocolate bars are available like, Bounty and Boost. Jack Perry was awarded patcham's kindest person however we failed to see how this was true because all that we ever got from him was dead arms. He was very good friends with a panda called Jasmine and we must not forget full time ( begins with P and ends in ervert) Craig Mitchell, Who was accompanied by Luke caldecourt. And last but not least there was Jack cullen who has built up a profession of being a full time bad-man. Of there is also James Harrison who is now an author of sex books.

Still at Patcham High are the legendary, Ryan Denyer (Dr Who Addict), Bethany Spence (Music Addict), Alice Johnson (Gymnastics Addict), Connor Burtenshaw (XBox Addict), Flo Wadey and Samantha Bloomfield (MCR Adicts) and Casey Woolven (Chemical Addict).
